Evan Taylor (Freddie Highmore) believes he can find his parents through music. Raised in an orphanage, he escapes to New York City, where his raw talent catches the attention of a mysterious street musician (Robin Williams) and a Juilliard conductor. Meanwhile, his parents — a cellist (Keri Russell) and a rock singer (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) — are unknowingly drawn back together by the same musical force.
