Then a new window opened. A simple text editor with one line: “You looked. Now I see you too.” Elias slammed the laptop shut. But through the gap in the hinges, the screen still glowed. And inside Core.rar , a second file had appeared—metadata from his own webcam, timestamped just now.

Elias didn’t know. But the drive hummed, and without typing anything, the archive unlocked on its own. The password field filled with asterisks, and the window clicked open.

Inside: one file. consciousness.bin . No extension. No size listed.

WinRAR opened, but instead of a file list, a password prompt appeared. The hint field read: “What was the first word she forgot?”
