In 2005, Rockstar Games released a video game adaptation that introduced The Warriors to a new generation. Capitalizing on this, Paramount finally released a "Director’s Cut" DVD. But this was no restoration; it was a revisionist nightmare. Hill inserted four "comic book" transition panels (drawn by the late Jim Steranko, but jarringly anachronistic) and, more infamously, removed the original opening and closing narration.
