They fought through three waves of robotic zombies. At the last moment, the Conehead — almost intelligent now — looked at Dave, then at the taco crumb in his hand.

Penny scanned the zombie. “Unlikely. That taco is emitting chronal energy. That zombie stole it from a temporal rift you accidentally left open after last week’s burrito incident.” Back on the lawn, the sun was setting
Dave didn’t hesitate. He threw a single Kernel-pult’s butter at the zombie’s face, grabbed the taco fragment, and ate it himself.
“He’s adapting,” Penny warned.
Dave smiled. “Bring extra guac.”
