The story begins when Shirou Emiya, a teenage boy who was saved from a fire by a mysterious woman named Kiritsugu Emiya, finds himself participating in the Fifth Holy Grail War, a secret tournament in which seven mages, known as Masters, and their servants, fight to win the Holy Grail, a powerful artifact that can grant any wish.
Fate/stay night is a Japanese anime television series based on the visual novel of the same name by Type-Moon. The series is set in the year 2004 and follows the story of Shirou Emiya, a high school student who becomes involved in a battle between seven mages, known as "Masters," and their powerful servants.
