She tries to mimic them—reaching for Tachibana’s sleeve—but he flinches slightly, not out of disgust, but surprise.
The mangaka uses silence masterfully. One page features three rows of identical panels: Rinko and Tachibana walking, seen from behind, with no dialogue. Only the shadows grow longer.
