If you want to avoid double-launcher syndrome, buy it directly from Ubisoft. This version tends to have slightly fewer connectivity issues with cloud saves. Plus, if you subscribe to Ubisoft+ , the game is included in your subscription.
The most popular choice. Search for Far Cry 3 —be careful not to buy Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon by mistake (though you should buy that too). The Steam version includes all the standard patches. However, be warned: even in 2026, you will need to launch Ubisoft Connect in the background. There is no way around that launcher handshake.
